Back to Frosch König again for silent film goodness in Berlin. Wir sahen gestern “The Navigator” von Buster Keaton. Es war sehr lustig auch wenn die von 1924. The man who owns the kneipe spoke again before the film started. I tried to follow along and picked out that he thought it was from 1925.. I think he also asked people not to smoke which was v-e-r-y good.
The Navigator was actually really funny, we enjoyed it a lot. What I found even more enjoyable is listening to the locals at the bar roaring with uncontrollable laughter. It was interesting to hear which parts of the film they thought were most funny. Lets just say that in Berlin, a man falling through a chair is comedy gold. The locals were also reading the english subtitles FAST.. I could tell because they’d sometimes be laughing at what was written before we did!
