August 2012 Sketchbook

Sooooooo… sketches. This month we went with my dog Max to a dog show and met another sheepdog who liked to dress as batman. Yep that’s right. Max was quite jealous of him and also of Super Murphy, a Pitbull who wears a red cape. I had to sketch Super Murphy and Batdog standing in the middle of the field with the rain pooring down. Those poor dogs…. tripping up over their costumes and standing under umbrellas in the middle of Llancaiach Fawr – a very old Tudor manor near where I’m from.

I also focussed on facial expressions and drew a lot of funny faces this month. I’ve been using a reference book called Facial Expressions by Mark Simon.
